Welcome to Hands On Equine!

Most people do not think about it, but we are continually asking a lot of our horses', to work and pull through regardless of how they actually may feel.

Horses suffer from the same type of muscle issues that we, as humans experience. Horses are able to compensate and hide their issues though to a point having so much tension that they eventually break and this is where lameness issues come in.

As a result, this can cause poor performance, trouble with leads and correct bending, the horse not using its back and hind properly, refusals and much more. And many times we put it off as the horse is just not trained enough or cut out for what we are asking of it.

An Equine Massage Therapist has extensive knowledge of the skeletal structure and muscle structure and training to use proper strokes and pressures to help improve your horses well-being, muscle condition and "bad" toxins.

Some of the benefits are:
- Increased circulation
- Decreased muscle tightness and spasms
- Improve lymphatic system to help cleanse system of toxins
- Increased range of motion
- Improve muscle tone
- Improve recovery for injuries

In some cases, related to stress, Massage Therapy has been successful in helping horses who colic often because it can help relax and improve the digestive and elimination system. This happens as a result of the muscles being relaxed and the circulation being improved.
