Equine Massage Information
Many people do not think about it, but we are continually asking our horses to work hard, regardless of how they may actually feel.

Horses can suffer from the same type of muscle issues that we, as humans, can experience. Horses' however, are able to compensate and hide many issues until they become too painful or uncomfortable to hide. This is where lameness or poor performance comes in.

Some of the signs of severe muscle stress during performance are, trouble with canter leads, trouble bending to one or both sides, the horse not using its back and haunches properly, refusales when jumping, even bucking and much more. Often we put this type of behaviour off and think the horse either just is not trained well enough, or that the horse is not cut out for what we're asking of it.

An Equine Masssage Therpist has extensive knowledge of the equine skeletal and muscle systems, and training to use proper strokes and pressures to help improve you horses well-being.

In some cases, Equine Massage can also be successful in helping to prevent colic through helping to relax and improve the digestive and elimination system.
